
Our safety tips are provided by our resident police officer, Deputy James Blackburn, Collin Country Sheriff's Office. Deputy Blackburn has been with CCSO for 17 years. His past assignments include Jail, Patrol, S.W.A.T., D.A.R.E. Instructor, and he is currently our School Resource Officer. He holds numerous law enforcement related certifications.
Deputy Blackburn's duties include performing the tasks associated with his primary assignment of patrol deputy with the CCSO, which includes, but is not limited to answering calls for service, working accidents, and preliminary investigation of offenses. Additionally, Deputy Blackburn has an office at the Community High School where he attempts to make positive contacts with students, staff, and parents. He patrols the halls of our schools daily as well as answers law enforcement related questions and provides counsel to parents in need of assistance. He also writes tickets in and outside of school as needed, as well as makes arrests when necessary.

School Zone Traffic
Sheriffs will be working "traffic" several days in the month of November in front of and beside the schools. Please remember that the speed limit is 35MPH when the school zone is activated and always 35MPH on CR543.
Child Safety Seat Law
Starting September 1st, 2005 all children under the age of 5 and under three feet tall must be in a child safety seat. This is a change from the previous law.
